I almost don’t even have words to type for you. But I feel like I owe it to my fans (I know you’re out there) to describe what #RBIS16 was like. If you followed us on Instagram and Facebook, you got to see my nerdy self going live at the event. That is about as close as I can bring you but let me try to recap.

First, the people. We had an amazing turn out at this year’s event. So. Many. People. It was fantastic, all the ideas and learning and networking flying around were almost tangible. We had amazing exhibitors. I think I might have made a few friends for life. We had terrific speakers. You met a few on the blog, but they have layers you just can’t express in a mere five minute interview. The food was amazing. My feet had their own pulse from all the running around and my face hurt from all the smiling. It was so much fun.

But now it’s over. The posters are recycled. The soda cans are empty. The flyers are outdated. The social media posts gather no more likes. And I have that sort of after Christmas morning feeling…where have all the pretty ribbons gone?!

You know what’s great though? The relationships built amongst the participants of #RBIS16 will live on, long after the excitement is over. And we have access to all of the slides and speaker’s notes on our website. If I’m feeling nostalgic, I can always read through and remember the good old days.

I did a little of that when I posted those notes on the site, and since I was helping orchestrate the ‘behind-the-scenes’ stuff, I missed a few things. I got to thinking…for the people who attended, I have a couple questions:

  • What do you plan to do with the information?
  • Were there any ideas you’re acting on? Or plan to act on?

Fear not, my little Chamber dwellers: word is we are about to ramp up planning efforts for our next big shindig called a “Gala”. This Bloguoso is not sure what that entails, but I’m told I will have to wear a very nice dress. I have suddenly become clairvoyant…I see…a shopping trip in my future.

{Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka presented the gold coin dress worth 267,948 dollars, at the Fashion week in Tokyo in 2007. The dress is made entirely of gold Australian coins, and for its creation were used over 15,000 coins. This original dress weighs ten kilograms.}

How about this one?——————————————–>

Do you think it’s too much?

I wonder if my husband will buy this for me.

He won’t let me have a wildebeest. So I’m guessing not.

{Shameless pandering to sponsors…in 3-2-1…}

P.S.-Thank you to all of our sponsors for making our event a huge success!
