$2 First Sunday – Admission is $2 on the first Sunday of every month for non-members ages 2 and up, unless otherwise noted on our calendar. Please have 1 adult for every 5 children in your group.

Extra Days! – ScienceWorks is now open for school in service days, conference days, etc.  Check our calendar for specific dates.

Visitor Guidelines

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful place for our patrons, as well as our staff, and volunteers. In order for everyone to have a great time while experiencing ScienceWorks, please follow these guidelines:

  • All children under the age of 13 must keep an eye on their adult chaperon at all times and don’t let them wander off.
  • Please wear shoes and clothes at all times while inside the museum.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, wheely shoes, etc. may be used outside the museum.
  • We are happy to offer picnic tables for outside eating. Drinks in closed containers may be carried throughout the museum.
  • Smoking is allowed outside at a distance of at least 10 feet from the museum entrance.
  • Service animals are permitted on site.  Please leave all other pets at home.  Unattended animals are not allowed in cars or leashed outside the museum.
  • Please be kind to all other visitors.

ScienceWorks is home to nearly 100 interactive exhibits that encourage children and adults to learn about more about various scientific principles. he museum currently uses all of the available 17,000 square feet of exhibit space and has created outdoor educational opportunities on its three acres of land including the Climb Through Time geologic climbing wall and a Solar Powered Nursery. The majority of exhibits have been built in-house in a state-of-the-art fabrication studio.

ScienceWorks is a member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Northwest Association of Youth Museums. ScienceWorks is fast becoming a regional resource, serving both the people of Ashland and attracting visitors to the city. Members come from as far away as Roseburg, Klamath Falls, Cave Junction and Mt Shasta. Over 86% of museum visitors come from outside of Ashland.

ScienceWorks exhibits have received national and international attention and have been sold to the Singapore Science Center, Technopolis in Belgium, Miami Museum of Science, Calgary Science Centre and museums in the U.S.
