The Klamath County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved submitting written testimony supporting the negotiated water settlement agreements, known as theKBRA and KHSA, to the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee as part of the Committee hearing scheduled for June 20^th, 2013.

“The Chamber Board endorsed the agreement process in the beginning and feels this hearing is the natural outcome of that process” says Stan Gilbert, Chamber President, he added, “Washington D.C. is where the idea of a large negotiated agreement began and it is fitting Congress should have a public discussion on the merits of the agreements now that they are completed.”

Chamber Board action was taken following board deliberations, member surveys and discussions.  The Senate hearing is scheduled for June 20^th and will feature a roundtable discussion with Senate Committee members and proponents and opponents of the agreements.

“This issue continues to impact the business community in Klamath County and the Chamber has an interest in any issue that could have positive or negative impacts on members.” said Charles Massie, Chamber Executive Director.
