Dan Peterson is a faculty member in the Department of Communications at Oregon Tech. Dan has a Ph.D.in Organizational Communication from Ohio University as well as an M.A. in Mass Media Studies and a B.A. in Public Relations, both from Brigham Young University. He teaches a variety of communication courses at Oregon Tech in the areas of organizational communication, leadership, public relations and public speaking, among others.

Beyond teaching in the classroom, he enjoys consulting, training, and instructional design projects for nonprofit, for-profit, and government organizations. His current research interests are in organizational culture, small business development, and public speaking pedagogy. He is also involved in campus-wide governance and service.

Dan and his wife Cathy have four children. Since moving to Klamath Falls in 2007, they have developed a love for downtown Klamath Falls and are active in the community and City Schools. He enjoys gardening, traveling, cooking, music, and family.
