Klamath Falls Blue Sky Challenge
The Klamath County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the City of Klamath Falls to launch the Klamath Falls Blue Sky Challenge. This challenge launched on April 23, 2009, and encourages residents and businesses to support renewable energy sources through Pacific Power's Blue Sky renewable energy program.
Executive Director Charles Massie would like our community to be seen as a center of renewable energy awareness. "We are making a name for ourselves in the way of geothermal energy, I think this is the next logical step," says Massie, "Sustainable energy is the field of the future and can help bring jobs to our county. We can establish ourselves as a community that cares about sustainability." Massie challenges Klamath Falls to increase the number of households and businesses participating in Blue Sky by 50 percent. He says, "A fifty percent increase would equate to about 300 new subscribers."
