Chamber Breakfast with the President

The March session of Breakfast with the President is scheduled for March 6th, 2009 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Elmer's Restaurant, 3030 S. 6th Street. The March Guest Speaker is William E. "Bill" Castle, President and CEO of South Valley Bank & Trust (SVBT).

Mr. Castle was named President and CEO of South Valley Bank & Trust (SVBT) in December 1997 after serving as Executive VP & Chief Credit Officer since joining the bank in May of 1993. SVBT is a privately held state chartered community bank headquartered in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The bank presently serves the south central regions of Oregon, including the Klamath, Medford and Bend markets. South Valley presently manages more than $1 billion in market valued assets through its commercial banking and trust operations. Bill also serves as the President & CEO of South Valley Bancorp, Inc. (SVB), a bank holding company that owns and controls both SVBT and South Valley Wealth Management (formerly Elliott-Ledgerwood & Co), an independent broker dealer also headquartered in Klamath Falls. Prior to joining SVBT, Bill served as Senior Vice President and Credit Administrator for the former Western Bank and as Vice President and Business Banking Center Manager for the former First Interstate Bank of Oregon. He began his banking career in Oregon in 1975 upon completion of his undergraduate degree through Oregon State University. Bill subsequently attended Pacific Coast Banking School through the University of Washington and is an honors graduate, Class of 1989. He has served for the past nine years on Oregon Institute of Technology Presidents Advisory Council. Bill is also a member of the Ragland Rife Foundation Board of Trustees, and former director of the Ross Ragland Theater. He is a past president of both the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce and Klamath County Economic Development Association, and is a past Chairman of the Board of the Oregon Bankers Association. Bill has been married to his wife Sue for twenty-eight years and has three grown children and two grandchildren.

The Breakfast with the President series is scheduled monthly and features the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce President Darin Rutledge and a guest speaker. These meetings are designed to provide Chamber members an opportunity to meet with local, regional, and national leaders and discuss the issues that affect you and your business. This opportunity is exclusive to Chamber members and space will be limited to facilitate an open, frank discussion.
