Klamath County WorkDrugFree Survey Online

Zion Lutheran Church wins $100 membership credit

March 5th, 2008

The Klamath County Chamber of Commerce is gathering information about Workplace Drug Policies through an online survey. The survey has been available to member businesses since the first of February and will now be available to all businesses and the public through the Chamber web site. More than fifty Chamber members responded to the initial WorkDrugFree survey and were entered in to a drawing to win a $100 credit toward Chamber membership.

The survey results show nearly all responding businesses are concerned about drug use/abuse in the work place but only half have a written drug policy. Only Twenty percent of companies have a random drug testing program in place and nearly forty percent said they would not consider having a drug testing program in their place of business. Meth and alcohol ranked highest as the drugs having the most negative impact on the work place and one third of the respondents would like to have a manageable program in place or were seeking more information about written drug policies.

Following the data collection phase of the survey the Chamber will establish a series of educational seminars to help businesses create an easily managed work place drug policy. If you are interested in more information regarding the WorkDrugFree program, survey results or educational opportunities contact the Chamber of Commerce at 884-5193.
