Art show to benefit Winter Wings and Museums

January 2008

Local editorial cartoonist Gordon Ross will be featured in an art show/sale benefiting the Klamath County Museums and the Winter Wings Festival. The show will be at the Sugar Pine Cafe' 404 Main St, Klamath Falls January 2nd thru 31st, 2008.

For over three years, Klamath area residents have been tickled, amused, shocked, and sometimes enlightened or provoked by the visual gibes and comments appearing in the Herald & News Sunday editorial cartoons, provided by the local writer and illustrator.

Besides pen and ink cartooning and illustrations, Gordon works in a number of visual art disciplines, including water colors, pastels, oils and acrylics. His paintings are included in collections across the country, though Gordon likes to say: "I really specialize in refrigerator door art." Each editorial cartoon in this collection has been selected by the artist from over 175 printed to date. Each has been copied onto card stock, individually painted with water colors, signed, numbered, matted and framed - ready to hang, and the date the original ran in the Herald & News is indicated on the back.
