Learn all about OR-7 and Oregon wolves at the downtown Klamath County Library

Saturday, March 4th 10am to noon
Sunday, March 5th 2pm
Downtown Klamath County Library

Let’s learn about Oregon wolves! We’re hosting an all-ages presentation Saturday, March 4th from 10 am to noon about a very special wolf: OR-7, a male gray wolf who migrated over 1,000 miles from northeast Oregon near the Idaho border to northern California, becoming the first gray wolf to enter California in nearly 100 years.

Author Beckie Elgin will read a selection from her book, Journey: The Amazing Story of OR-7, the Oregon Wolf that Made History. We’ll also have games and activities for kids highlighting facts about OR-7 and other gray wolves.

On Sunday, March 5th at 2 pm, we’ll have a screening of the documentary The Wolf OR-7 Expedition about a team of explorers who retraced OR-7’s path through Oregon. The film is unrated and runs for 83 minutes.

Elgin is a writer and registered nurse living in southern Oregon. The daughter of a zoo director, Elgin developed a passion for wildlife at an early age. She’s published many articles about wolves in The Oregonian, Earth Island Journal, Mail Tribune, and other publications.
