Klamath County Library screening The Teacher through Film Movement

Tuesday, March 13th 5:30pm
Downtown Klamath County Library

The downtown Klamath County Library will screen the Czech/Slovakian drama The Teacher on Tuesday, March 13th at 5:30 pm.

Slovakia, 1983. Behind the Iron Curtain, teacher Maria Drazdechova rules her classroom with a system of bribery: her pupils’ grades are directly related to what their parents can do for her: errands, housecleaning, odd jobs. After a student attempts suicide, the school director calls an emergency parents’ meeting: they must remove the teacher. But Drazdechova is a high-ranking member of the Communist Party, and going on the record opposing her could be very dangerous. Each parent must decide how far they are willing to go to stand up for what they believe in…

The Teacher is UNRATED, in Slovak with English subtitles, and runs for one hour, 43 minutes. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call 541-882-8894.
