Klamath County Library screening Summer 1993 at Foreign Film Night
Tuesday, May 14th 5:30pm
Downtown Klamath County Library
The downtown Klamath County Library will screen the Oscar-nominated Spanish family drama Summer 1993 on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:30 pm.
Inspired by events from writer/director Carla Simón’s own life, Summer 1993 follows Frida, a six-year-old girl from Barcelona who’s sent to live with her aunt and uncle in a rural Catalan village after her parents die from complications of AIDS. Surrounded by idyllic countryside and with a cousin her age to play with, Frida’s new surroundings should feel like the perfect “summer vacation.” But Frida still carries the trauma of her parents’ loss, and attempts to piece together what happened to her parents and why the grownups in her life are so cagey about it…
Summer 1993 is UNRATED, in Catalan with English subtitles, and runs for one hour, 37 minutes.
