Klamath County Library screening Jasper Jones through Film Movement
Tuesday, June 12th 5:30pm
Downtown Klamath County Library
The downtown Klamath County Library will screen the Australian coming-of-age drama Jasper Jones on Tuesday, June 12th at 5:30 pm.
Based on the novel of the same name by Craig Silvey, Jasper Jones has been hailed by critics as a tale in the vein of Stand By Me and To Kill a Mockingbird.
14-year-old Charlie Bucktin’s life is upended when Jasper Jones – a mixed Aboriginal boy and the town outcast – comes to him with a crisis: Jasper’s girlfriend Laura Wishart has been murdered, and the town’s racist authorities will certainly blame him for the act. As the town searches for Laura, tension rises as parents fear further disappearances and are anxious to find someone to blame. But as Charlie and his friends investigate the mystery behind Laura’s death, they will only uncover more secrets…
Jasper Jones is UNRATED, in English, and runs for one hour, 45 minutes. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call 541-882-8894.
