The downtown Klamath County Library and the Great Outdoor Alliance are hosting a screening of the documentary The Eagle Huntress on Sunday, May 7th at 2 pm.

The Eagle Huntress follows 13-year-old Aisholpan Nurgaiv, a young Kazakh woman, on her quest to become the first female to compete in the Golden Eagle Festival in Mongolia, where Kazakh hunters celebrate their culture of hunting with specially-trained golden eagles. To do so, she must capture her own eagle – and train it in Mongolia’s extreme cold while facing derision from male eagle hunters.

The documentary is rated G, in Kazakh and English with English subtitles, and runs for one hour, 27 minutes.
