Klamath County libraries to host Gardening Workshop Series with Oregon State Extension Office
Klamath County Library District
Let’s get ready for the 2018 gardening season! The Oregon State University Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center is back with another series of gardening workshops, and this time around we’re focusing on gardening in the Klamath Basin climate.
Nicole Sanchez, an Oregon State University assistant professor in horticulture, will lead both budding and experienced gardeners through a variety of topics, from growing your own healthy food at home to designing a yard landscape designed to thrive in our high desert climate.
Sanchez has worked in the horticulture industry for nearly 30 years. She runs the Klamath County Master Gardener Program at the OSU Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center, and has worked extensively with both home gardeners and commercial fruit and vegetable growers.
No pre-registration or prerequisites are required to attend any of the workshops. Each monthly lecture will be offered twice, once at the downtown Klamath County library and once at the South Suburban Branch library, so feel free to choose the time slot that best fits your schedule! Our upcoming topics and workshop dates are:
Designing a Klamath Landscape
Trees and Shrubs for the Klamath Climate
Bees, Blooms & Beauty: The Importance of Flowers
