Concert to explore jazz history

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A performance by the Dixieland Haute Schatz band will celebrate the history of jazz music and culture in a concert set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Klamath County Museum.

The band, comprised of Klamath Falls residents, is offering the free concert in conjunction with American Music Month in November.

The concert will include discussion of the historical context and significance of musicians and songs in the first half of the 20th century. Particular attention will be given to artists that played in the historic Klamath Armory, which now houses the Klamath County Museum.

The Dixieland Haute Schatz group consists of Rob Wilson on tuba, Cliff Crawford on Trombone, Niles Reynolds on trumpet, Lloyd “Smitty” Parratt on saxophone, Paul Beger on clarinet, and Brenda Crawford on piano.
